How long will carpet stay wet after steam cleaning?

We first want to say that your carpet should never be wet after cleaning. If the job is done correctly, it will be damp to the touch, but not wet.

When carpet is steam cleaned professionally, it can take 6-24 hours to dry. It's a big window because there are different things that affect how long, including the weather, carpet fiber thickness and airflow in the room. Running your central air, ceiling fan or a box fan to keep air moving in the room will help carpet dry quicker

How long before I can walk on my carpet after cleaning?

You can walk on your carpet as soon as we are done with the appointment. We do recommend that you wear socks until the carpet is completely dry. This is because the natural oils in your feet, when left on the wet carpet, will attract dirt and immediately cause stains and spots. This is also true with pets, especially dogs who excrete a lot of oils through their feet and dander.

Do I need to move my furniture?

For the most part, your furniture is protecting the carpet underneath. If you are changing the layout of your room or getting new furniture that is a different size it's a good idea to move it. If not there's no need to create more work for yourself. One exception to this is if you have a pet you know peed underneath something.
